Job Description: WPM are currently seeking a Lead Developer to drive further forward our already successful and talented web development team. You will be responsible for the team, assisting and supporting developers, helping to design the technical solutions for projects and liaising with the project managers to ensure technical tasks and projects are all completed on time.
This new role has been created in response to the requirement to free up more time from our project managers and provide a solid platform upon which we can grow and innovate our development team and practices. We are looking to make major strides in terms of developing future agency work and off-the-shelf solutions on the .NET platform (C#) and part of this role will be to nurture and drive this forward.
A major element of the role is managing the development team and ensuring they adhere to best practices, find appropriate and efficient solutions to complex problems and that long-term planning is carried out in regards to application and database scalability.
This is a very exciting opportunity to join a well-established agency with over a decade of experience working with some really exciting and varied clients and projects.
The ideal candidate will have a very strong development background based primarily around Microsoft technologies with demonstrable experience of leading small to medium sized development teams and delivering successful and timely solutions.
Being a new position to WPM, there is potential for the right candidate to take ownership of role and make it their own, therefore, we are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will have the passion to exceed.
Skills Range: The following skills are essential for this role:
• Substantial experience of following:-
ASP.net (C#), XML, Web Services (SOAP), ASP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, T-SQL and Visual Studio 2003/5
• Evidential experience of architecting and planning technical solutions and database design
• Ability to work under pressure effectively and ensure that the team being led are encouraged and assisted to do the same
• Experience of producing technical specifications ensuring estimations for timescales and development tasks are accurate
• At least 2 years experience working as a senior developer or team leader
• Able to demonstrate communication with people at all levels
• Strong process management skills
