Job Description
Reporting to the Surrey Club Coordinator, the Programmer will be responsible for the development and delivery of a variety of developmentally age-appropriate activities for members at the new Surrey Boys and Girls Club operating in the Whalley area.
Responsibilities:
# Develop and deliver programs that strengthen participants’ self-esteem and foster development of healthy peer relationships.
# Recruit, orient, and provide ongoing leadership, monitoring and support to a dedicated group of volunteers.
# Track participation, participant progress, and program outcomes.
# Provide Club leadership in the absence of the Club Coordinator.
# Maintain a communication log book.
# Ensure personal training and certifications are up-to-date (e.g. Put the Child First, Behaviour Management, First Aid).
# In collaboration with the Club Coordinator, ensure the quality, safety, and cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the Surrey facility.Qualifications:
# Post-secondary training in a related field of study and/or leadership experience in the social services/recreation sector.
# Experience leading staff and/or volunteer teams.
# Excellent verbal and writing abilities.
# Knowledge of basic budgeting principles.
# Superior organizational and time management skills.
# Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure and remain focused within a constantly changing work environment.
# Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
# Valid Standard First Aid (16 hr. course) and CPR certification.
# Current Class IV Driver’s License (or willingness to complete).
# Second language and experience working with culturally diverse people are assets.Hours: 35 hours per week
Wage: $27,300 per annum and benefits
