At the age of 35 Leander Paes wins his 8th Grand Slam title at US open. Pairing with Cara Black (ZIM) he wins his 4th Mixed Doubles crown at a Grand Slam event for the fourth time. Poised to make a double whammy at a Grand Slam event he and his Czech partner Llouhy failed at the final hurdle by loosing to the Bryan brothers.
But his mixed doubles win and reaching the doubles final proves the fact that age is no bar for achieving greater heights in a competitive sport like Tennis at the world stage.
