I have just set up a community map beginning in Cape Town, South Africa (which is of course where I am) and the aim is to show support for missing children worldwide. Please visit my 'bring them home' map and enter your location . You will note that there are currently 4 categories for you to select from eg. organisation (if you're representing an organisation or a non-profit), personal (if you're acting in your personal capacity), business (if you're representing a business) or student (if you're currently studying or away at college). So if you're at college, you would go to the category labelled 'college/universities' and find your location on the map, click on it and then enter the name of your college, eg.Westwood College or do a search for colleges in LA or California college in the window that pops up.
The purpose of the map is to show support for missing children and to let kidnappers/abductors know that the world is watching them....so please, do send the link to all you know, include it in your blogs, emails, webpages, forums, everywhere!
The map has various functions where you may enter photographs of yourself, your community, your college, etc. You may also find a path or begin a path from Point A to Point B, eg. from college to your home in LA or to trace the route of a journey you plan to take or in the case of missing kids, to trace sightings.
